Overview
Harwood Interiors makes bespoke curtains, blinds and soft furnishings at its own manufacturing facility in Lancashire, for hotels, care homes, residential developments and private homes.
I designed and built the website as a custom WordPress theme: a quiet, editorial site with a services mega menu, a collection you browse like a showroom, interactive guides to curtain headings and hardware, project galleries with a lightbox, and an enquiry form that tells the team what each client needs before they reply.

The challenge
Harwood's work is made to measure, and it sells to two very different clients: commercial buyers furnishing hotels, care homes and developments, and homeowners furnishing a single room. The website had to look as considered as the work, explain a service full of choices, and turn a visit into a consultation.
As premium as the product
Every curtain is made to measure, so a template site would undersell the work. The design had to feel like a high-end interiors brand from the first screen.
Two kinds of client
Commercial buyers and homeowners look for different things, so each needed a clear route from the menu to their own projects and an enquiry.
A service full of choices
Headings, linings, tracks, poles and blind types all change the result. Clients needed a simple way to compare them before a consultation.
Enquiries worth answering
Every project starts with a conversation, so the site had to collect enough detail for the team to reply properly the first time.
Present Harwood as a premium bespoke interiors brand, make every service easy to understand before the first call, and turn visits into well-qualified enquiries.
Site structure
The collection and the two project pathways sit one click from every page, with the company story and the process close behind.

What I did
Services opens into one panel: the collection on one side (curtains and sheers, blinds, accessories) and the two project pathways on the other, so a hotel buyer and a homeowner each see their route from the first click.

On the home page, picking curtains and sheers, blinds or accessories swaps the photograph and description in place, with a link straight to that service.

Each curtain heading (pencil pleat, pinch pleat, wave and eyelet) and each track or pole has its own slide with a photograph and the points that set it apart, so clients can compare options before the consultation. The curtain and blind pages also answer the questions clients ask most.

Commercial and residential work each have their own page and gallery. Any photograph opens in a lightbox, so clients see the finish up close.

A dedicated page sets out all six stages, from the first consultation and fabric selection to the site survey, quotation, manufacture and installation, so clients know what happens and when.

The project enquiry asks for the service needed, whether the work is residential, commercial or trade, and how the client prefers to be contacted, next to the phone number, email and opening hours.

Brand
Warm, quiet and editorial: ivory and clay backgrounds like natural linen, walnut and antique gold for actions and detail, deep navy for contrast sections, Cormorant Garamond for headings and Manrope for everything you read.
